The Carrier 06DA403844 Schraeder valve assembly is a relatively small part of many HVAC systems but essential. Schraeder valves are similar to the pressure relief valves as the valve. In your HVAC system, this specific valve is an unloading valve. While in operation, the compressor in your AC or heat pump develops pressure. The unloading valve is also instrumental in controlling that pressure and as such will help protect the compressor. When its thermal capacity is achieved, the unloading valve is then opened allowing the refrigerant to bypass the compressor to avoid additional load.
