Description
The Carrier P421-4006 is a Carrier Thermistor Start Kit, a group of devices that help to start Carrier HVAC equipment including compressors. Thermistors are temperature-sensitive resistors in the kit. These thermistors have high resistance when the compressor is switched on and a surge of current to the initial inrush load is possible. When the compressor motor heats up, the thermistor resistance reduces the amount of current avoiding overheating the motor. This one is for 50/60Hz systems and may contain the thermistors and possibly other hardware for fitting.
