Description
The Johnson Controls CSD-CA1G0-1 is a current sensor that is non-intrusive and is used in HVAC systems. It has a split-core construction that enables one to fit it around other wires without needing to interrupt the circuits. This sensor measures the current passing through the wire and the range is adjustable up to 1.25 to 1.35A. The split core embraces the target wire, and the wide part is squeezed between it and the wire. Electric current when passing through a specific wire will generate a magnetic field. The non-magnetic split core does not disrupt this field and can be made to pass through a transformer within the sensor. This sensor scales down the current to a level that can be easily measured. This signal can then be used by control systems to track and possibly modify equipment functionality.
