The Lennox 84M92 Pressure Switch is a safety device used in Lennox HVAC systems, usually furnaces although verification from Lennox is necessary to determine compatibility. This little yet crucial part of your furnace works like a security guard protecting the furnace from harm. This is a (SPST) switch that is particularly suitable for low pressure operations. It also measures the air pressure inside the furnace. If the pressure drops below the safe operating level due to such causes as blocked filters or poor air flow, the switch turns off the machine automatically. Making the switch to stop operation when pressure is low also protects your furnace from getting damaged by heat or strain on the blower motor.
