Trane PIT0026 is a Pilot Assembly a genuine replacement part for natural gas furnaces only. It is an essential part of the furnace gas burner assembly and is used to ignite the principal gas burner. This pilot assembly employs the use of an electrode ignition system, which employs an electric spark to ignite a small pilot flame. This pilot flame is on continuously and ignites the main burners as and when heat is required by the system. The electrode produces a high-voltage spark that ignites the natural gas that is supplied in the pilot burner orifice.
