Description
The Trane SWT1657 Thermal limit switch is a safety control that ensures that HVAC equipment do not reach high-temperature levels. It is safe to use because it shuts off the system after attaining a dangerous temperature to avoid damaging the equipment. However, the reset temperature and open temperature of this kind of model are 220 °F and 250 °F, separately. In other words, the switch allows the system to re-cycle after the temperature drops to an optimum of 220°F and cut-off the power supply if it rises to 250°F. These switches are often observed in different kinds of HVAC furnishing including heat pumps, air conditioners and furnaces.
